Michael Dan Ehmig, David Muse & Sal Belloise will be at a South Tampa House Concert (Westshore/Gandy area) on Fri Dec 16th. 7:30 doors. 8:00 concert.
The word “legendary” may be overused – but in this instance methinks it’s warranted. These legendary musicians are getting together for a rare (maybe first ever) house concert. Sorry about the short notice but I’ve always heard that one best strike while the iron is hot. So I “struck” & we’re having ourselves a concert featuring the subject threesome. (Thanks to Irene Brandow for helping to make this happen.) $20 is the suggested donation (100% of which will go to the musicians). Space is limited . RSVPs are requested. Please let me hear from you with your RSVP ASAP.
DAVID MUSE
SAL BELLOISE
MICHAEL DAN EHMIG has written songs performed by the likes of Melanie, Joe Cocker, Lita Ford, Meatloaf, Deanna Carter, Chris Ledoux, Omar & The Howlers, and others. In addition to being a fine songwriter, he is also a mighty fine (FINE!) performer. I couldn’t find many on-line links – but –I’ve personally seen Michael on stage first-hand. Trust me. He’s the real music deal.
DAVID MUSE, as an original member of Firefall, helped craft the band’s unique sound. This sound resulted in gold and platinum albums and chart-topping singles (You Are The Woman, Goodbye, Just Remember I Love You, and Strange Way). The band’s success led to around the world tours with the likes of Leon and Mary Russell, The Doobie Brothers, The Band, Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Beach Boys and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Since the dissolution of Firefall in 1981, David has performed with numerous national and regional acts, including The Marshall Tucker Band. He has also pursued several solo projects with his latest being David Muse's Tonal Alchemy . In 2008 he was a part of a Firefall reunion concert in Boulder, Colo. By the way, Carrollwood’s own JIM MASON, Firefall’s original producer, was also part of that reunion .

SAL BELLOISE was weaned on vocal harmonies of the late psychedelic era (Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, James Taylor). Sal’s guitar style is steeped in those psychedelic sounds, mixed with the spirit of Jimi Hendrix, and flavored with the warm southern nights of Clearwater Beach. Sal writes from the heart, with uplifting notes and stories to which people can relate. His music has been heard on independent radio in the U.S., U.K., and abroad. Sal appeared with headliner Billy Dean at the 2010 Florida Folk Festival. Folks in the audience gave Billy a very warm welcome. They also did likewise for Sal. Trust me. I was there. HE WOWED US!

GOOD NEWS: STILL LOTS OF SPACE FOR THE CONCERT
BAD NEWS: STILL LOTS OF SPACE FOR THE CONCERT.
I’m a HUGE Phil Lee fan. He’s at the top of my favorite musicians’ list. I know it’s a busy busy music weekend, but if you can squeeze in Phil’s concert, I think you’ll be happy you did. (and I'll be happy you did too. )
Phil Lee writes intelligent songs full of wit, humor and grace that blend sizzling Dylan-esque rock and roll, country and western, mid-sixties British Invasion and medicine show sounds that end up being utterly unique and sung in a voice that can shoot straight through to your heart. ..... (he also sometimes throws in a little bit of dancing.. a cool soft shoe)
Phil has never feared, personally or lyrically, to scamper out on a limb with a gleam in his eye and a
hacksaw in his hand

Phil Lee – one man, one guitar and a bag of great songs about love and death, misplaced faith, discarded spaceships, hard times - and the funny side of all that. Guaranteed to please!
Hows about a traveling mini-fest? Doors for the Phil Lee South Tampa House Concert is set for 5:00 with concert at 5:30. The reason for the strange timing is that Rod MacDonald will be in an early afternoon concert at the Jan Platt Library – which is about 8 minutes from the house . Rod’s concert begins at 2 & should be over by 4 - 4:30ish. http://tinyurl.com/3ryqp7m
If one were to so choose, one could attend Rod’s concert at the library & then drive down to the house and attend Phil’s concert. A great double whammy. Sounds like a swell idea to me!

D. Joe Craven/Jon Shain UU DOME CONCERT Recap. The Joe Craven & Jon Shain Concert at the UU Dome last Friday night was one for the record books. Jon Shain will be returning to Tampa in December. We have a South Tampa House Concert planned for Thur Dec 29. Thanks to Doug Travers for posting these two videos from the Dome concert:
E. Mean Mary SOUTH TAMPA HOUSE CONCERT Recap. We had a really super South Tampa House Concert last night with Mean Mary. Mary is so talented & charming & on & on. There was an x-tra special treat too. Rebecca Zapen was in the house & Mary invited Rebecca to the “stage.” (yep. we have a stage.. sort of.) Rebecca obliged and performed two of her songs for us. Very nice! ( Rebecca is a busy bee. Ck her schedule here: www.zapen.com )
We also had some newcomers in the house last night, one of whom was trying to figure out what the heck was going on. “Who organized this? Whose house is this?” I explained that I organized it but that it was Craig’s house. I further explained that altho Craig & I were a couple that I lived down the street in my own house. To which he exclaimed: “Two houses. That’s a great idea! Now I’ve just gotta figure out how to convince my wife to get her own house.” : – )

A personal plug from yours truly – me. I’m a HUGE Phil Lee fan. He’s at the top of my favorite musicians list. If you come out to see him, I think you’ll understand why.
While I was in Nashville recently, I picked up the Oct 13-19, 2011, edition of the Nashville Scene where I found a writeup by Jim Ridley in the Critics Pick section about a concert with the Twenty-Eights (a Chuck Berry tribute band) & the opener PHIL LEE: “..... The Twenty-Eights live show is one of the most fun you’ll see all year – something we could say just as easily of their opening act, Phil Lee, whose You Should Have Known Me Then remains our favorite singer-songwriter album of the Aughts. To have them together – it’s as if Christmas arrived two months early. “
